We have the great privilege and honor to communicate with our Creator, the Almighty God, who holds all power, who is all knowing, and who is always present with us. It is through these means that our identity is found in Him. We are created in His image. When we entered this world, through a natural birth, we took baby steps into every experience. Our spiritual birth requires the same growth process from one level of faith to the next. The scripture tells us that - “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). The more word we hear and obey, the more we will grow and see ourselves the way God sees us.

As we grow in the Lord, we become carriers of what His word cultivates in our hearts. We begin to walk in a greater measure of power and authority given to us upon the confession of our Faith as sons and daughters of God. This is when life begins, and when we know that God is with us and in us. As the scriptures declare, “we are in the world, but we are not of the world.” Therefore, as Believers we are citizens of the Kingdom of God - we talk different, we walk circumspectly, we live by Faith. As we pray in Jesus Name to our heavenly Father who sees us in secret, we have assurance that He will reward us openly. However, there have been times when we feel like our Father does not hear us praying, and we become discouraged, doubtful, and lacking faith when the answer does not arrive on our timetable. I encourage you that the God who hears our prayers is the same God who answers them in the proper time. Keep praying!

Jesus declared in Matthew 17:20 (ESV) — He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Faith in prayer moves mountains.

A Mountain is defined as “a large natural elevation of the earth’s surface rising abruptly from the surrounding level”. Circumstances may appear to be impossible to us, “but with God all things are possible to them that believe” (Mark 9:23 ESV). What is your mountain today? Do you have the Faith to speak to it and command sicknesses, diseases, setbacks and hindrances to go? Whatever it may be, I encourage you to look within yourself, and you will begin to see what God has placed in you—the Faith to speak to any mountain and that mountain will be moved. Whatever abruptly rose in your life yesterday or today, declare that “I AM A MOUNTAIN MOVER”.

Examine the prayer habit of David in Psalm 55:17 (ESV) - “Evening and morning and at noon. I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.” Daniel also had the habit of praying in Daniel 6:10 (ESV) - “When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day, prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.” Jesus prayed in the quiet place of the hills and mountains in Luke 6:12 (ESV) - “In these days He went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.” Abraham, the “Father of the Faith,” exhibited the same habit of prayer in Genesis 19:27 (ESV) - “And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord.” We find out that we have many benefits when we pray and become more intimate with God. The following list contains a few of the many benefits that come from developing a disciplined Prayer Life free from distractions and confidence in moving the mountains that plague our lives:

Circumstances change for the better.

Mindsets shift for the greater, become stronger and more sound.

We become more like Christ in Character and Integrity.

Perfection in Him, with humility when consistent in prayer.

Pure heart is created, as we walk in the Spirit, we walk in the love of Christ.

Supernatural Power and Authority is released.

Our Faith is Increased in God.

Prayer is a powerful weapon accompanied with the power of Faith to strategically move mountains in our lives. I encourage you to make a new commitment to developing a consistent Prayer Life and declare over yourself…

"I AM A MOUNTAIN MOVER"

With the Love of Christ,
Mykell Delesia Hudson
Surge Prayer Team

However, before I indulge in a meal, I must prepare it first.

What all goes into preparing a meal?
1. Writing a list of ingredients down
2. Going to the store and purchasing supplies
3. Cooking the meal
4. Serving the meal

It takes effort, sacrifice, and physical work to see what once was nothing turn into a beautiful delicacy. After consuming it, we must do it all over again in order to enjoy the next meal.
This is how we should also view worship. The following are some key ingredients to worshiping God…

1. Worship Requires Faith
Worshiping a God we can’t physically touch, see or smell can be hard sometimes, but our faith is measured in our worship to God. When we worship, our faith is growing in ways we don’t see in the moment. When we *choose* to worship even when we don’t *feel* like it, God moves on our behalf.

Remember the words of Jesus to the Woman at the Well:
“But the time is coming - indeed it’s here now — when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.” -John 4:23

2. Worship Requires Sacrifice
When we give our praise, efforts, tithe, and offering to the Lord, we aren’t just acting out of worship, but also out of sacrifice. When we sacrifice our praise to the Lord, we are walking in obedience to Him and when we walk in obedience, we walk in His blessing.

Hebrews 13:25 declares…
“Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.”

3. Worship Requires Surrender
When we humble ourselves in worship, acknowledging that there is no other God greater and that we are nothing without Him, we are worshiping Him in complete surrender. That is when He can use us and speak to us. That is where our perspective shifts from “me” to “Him”. When we worship in a state of complete dependency on God, that is when we will completely be filled by Him. Living life on what He “says” instead of what we “want” is when we know we are living a life of surrender to the Father.

James 4:10 reminds us of this fact…
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.”

What I love about worship is that it’s never ending. Just as we need food everyday to fill us up physically, we need worship to do the same for us spiritually.

I urge you to press in as you worship and watch a breakthrough take place in your life. I pray this message has encouraged you and empowers you to shout, sing, and dance before the Lord because He is truly worthy to be praised!

With a Worshipful Heart,

Kristin Adkins
Surge Worship

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things.”

The key to fulfilling God’s will is found in these verses:
•Forget what is Behind
•Reach for what is Ahead
•Press On toward the Goal

2021 has been a year in which we have worked hard to accomplish projects and improvements in the church we were not able to accomplish in 2020. To those ends, we thank you for your support and patience as much of the work has been behind the scenes.

We’re now entering the last quarter of the year. This is a time for us to regain focus and to press on. Paul ended this section in Philippians 3 by stating - “Let those of us who are mature have this same mindset.”

The last 2-years have brought such disruptions and distractions to life and society. It is easy to lose focus when we’re caught in the cross currents of so much turbulence. However, it is in times like these that mark those who are mature. Mature believers leave the past behind, buckle down and continue to reach forward and press on.

God has given us BIG Vision for the future of Surge Church, and it’s our ability to maintain focus and press on in the present that will ensure our success. As we come down to the home stretch of 2021, I ask for your help in finishing strong through your…

•Attendance & Participation
•Service & Support
•Inviting People to Join Us

These are three habits of spiritually mature believers that are directly connected to our ability to Press On.

We’re all busy, but unfortunately we live in a world that tells us we have to be busy to be successful. The downside of this deception is that “busy” has become an idol. While under its yoke, it is easy to forget our first love and the first things to which God has called us. Blessing and success comes when we keep the things of God as “first things” in our lives.

Acts 2:42 records that in the beginning of the Church the first Christians “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” These things were the building blocks faithful Christians then used to build the Church. These things are still the foundation stones that Christians must remain faithful to today.

Thank you for your love, prayers and faithfulness that have helped to bring us this far as a Church Body. Now is the time for us to forget what is behind, move forward into what is ahead and continue to Press On toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus!

Together, we Surge Forward!

With Love,
Pastor Brad Sullivan
